Abstract
This research project is a collaborative effort towards a certifiable, scalable, and attack-resilient control framework for smart grid stability. The proposal contains four research thrusts, namely (a) Maintaining voltage stability, (b) Certifiable online algorithms for small-signal stability, (c) Certifiable controlled islanding for transient stability, and (d) Testbed validation and prototyping. The team consists of Linda Bushnell, Radha Poovendran, and Dan Kirschen from University of Washington, and a subcontract to P.I. Andrew Clark at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The goal is to have reliable and sustainable operation of the future Smart Grid.
